Introduction

The Sky Bringup, LLC ("we", "our", or "us") operates the RecipeCost mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our App.

Information We Collect

RecipeCost processes the information needed to provide estimates, maintain purchases and entitlements, protect the service, and understand product reliability.

  • User Content: A written recipe, manually entered ingredients, or a selected photo is sent off the device only after you tap Analyze Recipe.
  • Device and Account Identifiers: The App and Gateway use anonymous, device-linked, session, and service-account identifiers for access, abuse prevention, purchase reconciliation, and product operation.
  • Usage and Diagnostics: Screen and funnel events, product interactions, request status, latency, provider and model identifiers, token counts, errors, IP address, and user agent may be processed to operate and improve the service.
  • Purchase Information: Apple handles payment credentials. RecipeCost and the Gateway process product, transaction, subscription, renewal, and entitlement records for verification and restoration.

Device Permissions

The App may request the following device permissions:

  • Camera: Used only when you choose to photograph a recipe, recipe card, handwritten note, or food for the estimate you request.
  • Photo Library: Used only when you choose an existing photo for the estimate you request.

How We Use Your Information

  • To return the AI-assisted estimate you explicitly request
  • To save your recipes, price history, and interrupted work locally on your device
  • To verify purchases, restore entitlements, and provide support
  • To apply short-window service protection and prevent abuse
  • To diagnose failures and understand how the App is used

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • The Sky Bringup Gateway: Authenticates the App, routes requested analysis, verifies purchases, enforces service protection, and records operational diagnostics.
  • OpenRouter and configured AI model providers: Receive the written content or selected photo and necessary instructions only when you request an estimate. The currently configured model is provided by Google through OpenRouter. Provider handling is governed by their applicable terms and privacy practices.
  • Self-hosted Plausible Analytics: Receives first-party mobile events through the Gateway. Events can include anonymous, account, and session identifiers, screen names, event properties, IP address, and user agent. RecipeCost does not use these events for third-party advertising tracking.
  • Apple App Store: Handles all purchases and payment processing.

Data Retention

Saved recipes, ingredient-price history, and recovery drafts remain on your device until you remove them or the App. The Gateway records account, purchase, entitlement, usage, and request-diagnostic data needed to operate the service. Its AI usage records are designed to store operational metadata rather than submitted recipe content, but the content is transmitted to the configured AI provider to produce your result. Provider and infrastructure retention can differ under their own terms and operational settings. Contact us to ask about available access or deletion options.

Data Security

All data transmitted between the App and our servers is encrypted using TLS (HTTPS). We implement industry-standard security measures to protect the limited data we process.

Children's Privacy

Our App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

Your Rights

You may contact us to request information about, correction of, or deletion of data associated with identifiers we can reasonably locate. Apple purchase records and provider-held records may also be subject to their own controls and legal retention requirements.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
